Danish shipping company Uni-Tankers is strengthening its fleet with the addition of two energy-efficient product tankers—one of which has a direct link to Singapore.
The 2008-built Selandia Swan, formerly known as Equatorial Shanghai, was acquired from Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services, a Singapore-based firm. The vessel will join Uni-Tankers’ owned fleet this spring as part of the company’s push toward greener operations.
A second vessel, the Tina M, a 2024-built 6,000 dwt tanker, will be added on long-term charter from April. Both vessels are sister ships to the Fionia Swan, which entered Uni-Tankers’ fleet in 2022 and is reported to be about 25% more efficient than conventional tankers of similar size.
The Selandia Swan has been rated “A” on the International Maritime Organization’s Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) scale, reflecting its strong environmental performance. The addition supports Uni-Tankers’ goal of reducing carbon intensity by 40% by 2030.
According to the company, this fleet renewal effort aligns with growing demand for lower-emission shipping solutions across Europe and Asia.
