Danes in Singapore are invited to lace up their running shoes later this month as the annual “Royal Side Run” returns to Mount Faber.

The event, organised by the Danish Seamen’s Church in Singapore together with the Danish Business Association Singapore (DABS), will take place on Saturday May 24.

Participants can choose between a 5 km or 10 km run, while families and walkers can join a 5 km walk around Mount Faber.

Celebrating King Frederik

This year’s event will also mark the birthday of King Frederik, whose birthday falls on May 26.

After the run, participants will gather at the Danish Seamen’s Church for the changing of the royal portrait in a ceremony led by Danish Ambassador Jakob Brix Tange.

The organisers say the community event will include bubbles, snacks and social activities following the run.

Community gathering on Mount Faber

The run starts and ends at the Danish Seamen’s Church on Mount Faber at 9am, with all participants starting together.

Organisers describe the event as a relaxed and social morning focused on community spirit and supporting the Danish Seamen’s Church in Singapore.

Registration has opened through the church, with limited spots available here.
