“With this active support from Norway, it has been among other demands from Norwegian sponsors to ensure that the collected money will come in the right hands”, the Baan Jing Jai foundation writes on their website.

Norwegian sponsors have collected and raised money to support Baan Jing Jai. The financial support has helped the foundation to buy their own land, so that they now are in possess of their own building and have room for more children than first expected. The sponsor gifts also helps to support some children who have completed the regular school and are becoming adults, who require further education, which costs more than regular school. Eventually the home be focused on creating projects for these children, helping them to choose the right way forward, and help them avoid to not fall into “wrong professions” in Pattaya and Thailand, says the website.

It is not only financial the Norwegian sponsors and volunteers have supported Baan Jing Jai. Since 2014 Norwegian Seaman’s Church in Pattaya has arranged tours every Saturday to Baan Jing Jai to visit and meet the children living there.

Right now everyone is working hard to prepare for the grand opening on 9 January. The Seaman’s Church in Pattaya will provide transportation from the church 2pm to Baan Jing Jai. Everyone is welcome to join!
