Plantui is a Design & Food Tech company with focus on the growth process in hydroponic indoor gardening.

They believe that in the future greens will be grown near where they are consumed. The time for growing it there and using it here is over – it’s time for growing it here and using it here. From greenhouses to homes and your local restaurants.

Plantui is connecting the dots between design and food tech with its Smart Garden concept. The Plantui Smart Garden concept builds on i) Smart Garden platforms for hydroponic indoor gardening, ii) a wide range of Plant Capsules bundled into different selections, and iii) plant knowledge i.e. understanding how different plants grow offered as a service on Plantui.com.

Plantui combines cutting edge plant science, light spectrum intelligence & high technology packaged as a beautifully designed consumer product. The Plantui Smart Garden concept is based on a scalable business model where consumers buy a Plantui Smart Garden product combined with recurring purchases of Plantui Plant Capsules and accessories. As part of our service design we offer plant growth timelines and a wide selection of Plant Capsules in our online shop and through our retail partners.

In September, 2015 Plantui received approval from Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) for a grant of €250,000 within the Young Innovative Company funding programme (YIC). Tekes offers funding for young, innovative companies for comprehensive development of their business activities. The aim is to substantially accelerate the global growth of the most promising small companies. Young innovative company funding is meant for a company that has been in operation for a few years, and has proven its business concept, so that it already has customers. Tekes funding can be applied for by companies registered in Finland. If we meet the growth targets we will receive another grant of €250,000 in 2016.
