PensionDanmark, managing $51 billion, is amplifying its commitment to clean energy in Asia, prioritizing sustainability as a key focus for 2025.

Current projects include wind and solar ventures across Vietnam, Taiwan, India and South Korea. Investments are made both directly and through Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), targeting high-growth markets such as the Philippines and Vietnam.

“Asia offers superior returns and significant decarbonization potential compared to developed markets,” said Jan Kæraa Rasmussen, head of ESG at PensionDanmark, to AsianInvestor. He highlighted tailored country-specific strategies as essential to maximizing impact.

Recent achievements include 895MW offshore wind capacity in Taiwan and 1.3GW solar and wind capacity in India. PensionDanmark’s 2023 global green investments reached $5.6 billion, reflecting an ongoing push into renewable infrastructure.

Looking ahead, the fund also aims to integrate biodiversity investments into its strategy, aligning with broader sustainability goals.
