Accompanied by 15 Swedish companies working with clean energy solutions, Ibrahim Baylan, Swedish Minister for Policy Coordination and Energy, visited Jakarta from 15 to 17 February 2017 to work towards an enhanced cooperation in the energy sector. Indonesia is as the world’s fourth most populated country and important partner for Sweden, both for increased trade and for the implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
“Indonesia is a key player in order to meet the global climate goals and I am proud to be able to represent Sweden and Swedish innovation,” writes Ibrahim Baylan on his Facebook.
During the visit Baylan met with both the Indonesian Ministry for Transportation and the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs. At the end of the visit, on 17 February, the Minister met with the Indonesian Government to sign a cooperation agreement in the energy field between the two countries. The cooperation includes renewable energy, energy efficiency, research and innovation and capacity building.
