Swedish representatives visited refugee camp in Thailand

Representatives from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Board and the Swedish embassy in Bangkok visited the refugee shelter Mae Lee in Thailand.

Frederik Frisell of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Board and Nicolas Weeks, Deputy Head of the Swedish embassy in Bangkok, have visited the temporary shelter Mae La.

Even though the shelter is called temporary, it has existed in 34 years.

The Swedish embassy acknowledges the strong and resilient organization of the displaced communities providing training and implementing basic services under challenging conditions, they write on their official facebook page.

During the visit, Frederik Frisell and Nicolas Weeks engaged with community leaders on uncertainties facing their future.
