The Norwegian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Kjersti Rødsmoen visited Norwegian Seafood’s booth at THAIFEX–ANUGA ASIA 2020 on 22 September 2020. The event is one of the world’s biggest Food & Beverage industry trade shows and held annually in Thailand.

The Norwegian Seafood stand was visited by Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, H.E. Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, who also made remarks at the opening ceremony of the event.

Even though the Norwegian exporters were not able to travel to Thailand this year, the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) represented them very well and showcased a variety of Norwegian seafood products. Live video conferences between Norwegian exporters and potential buyers in Thailand were organized at the event.

Seafood counts for 50 percent of the total export from Norway to Thailand. After a dramatic decrease of sales during March and April due to the impact of COVID-19, Norway is catching up again and hoping that the sales this year in total will be close to last year.
