Chinese solar company Longi Green Energy has launched its first energy storage project in Finland, marking a new step for Chinese green technology in the Nordic region, China Daily reports.

The project combines renewable energy with battery storage and has now been successfully connected to Finland’s power grid.

According to the company, the system was specially designed to handle Nordic conditions, including extreme cold and the challenges of island-based electricity networks.

Longi said the project is intended to improve grid stability and make renewable energy more efficient and reliable under changing weather and energy demand conditions.

The Finnish installation is also seen as an important test case for expanding Chinese energy technology into other high-latitude European markets.

The company described the project as an example of how Chinese green energy solutions can be adapted to local conditions in northern Europe.
