PT Lundin Industry Invest is making significant progress on its latest project, the Kapal Serbu Ringan (KSR), or Fast Attack Craft. This advancement follows a collaborative agreement signed during the Indo Defence 2022 exhibition. The partnership includes PT PAL and Kongsberg of Norway, aimed at enhancing Indonesia’s naval capabilities.

During the exhibition, officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to kick off the cooperation. Under this agreement, PT Lundin will build the KSR, Kongsberg will supply surface-to-surface Naval Strike Missiles (NSM), and PT PAL will act as the Lead Integrator for the project.

The KSR measures 20 meters long, 4 meters wide, and has a displacement of 33 tons. This agile craft can reach speeds up to 55 knots, making it one of the fastest armed vessels in the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL). The design features two NSM missiles positioned on either side of the vessel for effective strikes.

Recently, photos posted by the North Sea Boats account on November 1, 2024, showcase the KSR’s progress. These images reveal the hull in actual size, displayed next to a person for scale. The full setup of the KSR will include a mast and two missile launch tubes.

As PT Lundin develops this promising craft, it signifies a commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s maritime defense. Additionally, this project enhances regional security in an era of evolving military capabilities. The collaboration among PT PAL, Kongsberg, and PT Lundin will bolster Indonesia’s position in maritime defense and ensure preparedness for future challenges.
