Norwegian oil company wins order in China

Norwegian company Aker Solutions has on 23 October 2018 won an order to provide China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) with products for a new underwater gas field in China.

Aker Solutions will provide CNOOC with subsea production system and umbilicals for CNOOC’s upcoming Lingshui 17-2 gas field.

The order is worth NOK1.7 billion ($205 million).

“We are pleased to extend our partnership with CNOOC in China to the Lingshui gas field and leverage our global deepwater capabilities,” said Luis Araujo, chief executive officer of Aker Solutions.

Lingshui 17-2 gas field is CNOOC’s first subsea deepwater project located in the South China Sea. The project is developed by CNOOC and will have water depths of up to 1,500 meters.
