Dr Jurgenne Primavera from the Philippines will be conferred an honorary doctor’s degree by Stockholm university on Friday 24 September.
The ceremony takes place in the City Hall.
Thirteen highly qualified individuals will become honorary doctors and another 156 people conferred ordinary doctor degrees.
Dr Primavera is a leading authority in environment problems in tropical coastal areas.
A banquet, song and music will round off the evening.
