Rangsit University signs cooperation agreement with Swedish academics

Sweden is world famous for producing more groundbreaking innovations per capita than most nations in the world while Thais top global surveys measuring entrepreneurship and willingness to start up new businesses.
Rangsit University and Entrepreneurship Swedish Thai Co. Ltd., EST, did on Wednesday 29 June sign a letter of intent to launch a post graduate Programme which blends these two national skills into a powerful combination.
The Programme, which begins February 2006, is called ‘International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Master of Business / Management ‘.
“This Programme focuses on people that want to work in an international environment by creating something from their visions. Accompanied by a team of experts from Sweden, Scandinavia and Thailand, participants will sharpen their capacity to identify core management issues, to take and implement decisions, “says Dr. Toni Ivergard, Chairman EST and Associate Professor of The Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm and a former executive of very large public and private Nordic organisations.
For Rangsit University the Programme is proof of its ambition to differentiate itself from the mainstream curricula found at most Thai universities.
“I am very glad to announce this agreement with EST. Ever since I was a government minister I have been closely involved in cooperation between Thailand and Sweden and I look very much forward to this initiative,” says Dr. Arthit Ourairat, President Rangsit University.
Entrepreneurship Swedish Thai Co., Ltd. is an education company formed by senior Swedish academics. Its Chairman, Dr. Toni Ivergard, has taught Knowledge Management, Good Governance and Management at Mahidol University over the last five years. The first 18 month Programme is expected to commence by February 2006 with ten to twenty students.
