Danish Coach Inge Thorsen Apologises

Singapore-based Danish dressage trainer Inge Merete Thorsen has according to the website www.Equestrian.com.my in June formally apologized to Masood and Maliha Faizullah Khan. It brings to a close a three-year legal battle.
A permanent resident of Singapore who was at that time employed by the Singapore Polo Club, Ms Thorsen conceded that she had taken a secret commission of Danish Kronors 15,000 from Danish horse dealer Jorgen Olsen.
In her nine-point apology, Ms Thorsen also apologized for her conduct in relation to the purchase of the horse Sirius, her treatment of Masood and Maliha’s son Moubin, and for her conduct in relation to the change in level of competition for the National Dressage Championships of Singapore in 1999.
In addition to her apology, Ms Thorsen agreed damages of SGD $25,000 to the Faizullahs.
Speaking to Equestrian.Com.My, Masood Faizullah Khan said, “I am very glad that this episode is over. It was all so unnecessary. It was Inge who started the legalities. It caused us three years of pain and lot of legal costs for no gain other than to receive an apology.”
Ms Thorsen, who is now employed by Sentosa Riding Centre, could not be reached as she is away in Denmark on a horse-buying mission for another group of Singaporeans.
