UNDP Funds Extension of Poverty Reduction Project in Vietnam

A signing ceremony on the extension of VIE 02/001 project for the period 2005-2010 was held in Hanoi on 17 October, the International Day for Poverty Reduction and Hunger Eradication.
         This extension project is worth US$5 million and funded by Finland and the United Kingdom. The project will further support the implementation of the programs for minorities-inhabited mountainous people for the period 2005-2010.The main objectives are improving the capacity of local staff in charge of poverty reduction work and ensuring that the poor will benefit from the program, and also make the better quality of their life.
