Singapore and Swedish Navies conducted bilateral mine countermeasure excercise

For the past eleven years, the Singapore and Swedish navies conduct their annual bilateral Mine Countermeasures Exchange Programme.

It is code-named Ex Lejon Singapore. This year, it was held in Singapore on 4th December and ended on the 13th of December.

This year’s exchange programme consisted of a sea exercise that incorporates Mine Countermeasure training and diving elements along with topical presentations on neutralising explosive ordnance.

The Singapore Defence Ministry has stated that the exchange programme is a prime example of the regular interactions that have strengthened professional ties between the staff of both navies.
