Great Nordic Composers at the Esplanade

This year marks the century and half-century of Edvard Grieg’s and Jean Sibelius’s deaths. Grieg was a Norwegian composer and pianist during the romantic period and was best known for his Piano Concerto in A minor. Sibelius was a popular Finnish composer of classical music in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His music played an important role in the formation of the Finnish national identity.
As a tribute to these great composers, The Philharmonic Chamber Choir presents a programme of Scandinavian a cappella music. The Fire Salmer of Grieg, and Sibelius’s Rakastava will be performed at the Esplanade Recital Studio on 13th and 14th of July at 8 pm. Tickets available at SISTIC.
