Norwegian Agency for International Development (NORAD), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), supported a four-day training course under the theme “Gender Role and Mass Media” in Vientiane in July.
The training course, jointly organized by the Information Gender Role Centre and the Mass Media Department under Laos’ Ministry of Information and Culture on July 11-14, was aimed at exchanging views and ideas among the participants, disseminating gender roles and creating awareness on the importance of gender roles among media officials.
The course was closed with good results. The participants learned how to collect and disseminate data and information on gender roles in national development and poverty alleviation programmes to the people.
