Popular Headhunter Talk in Bangkok

The Danish Thai Chamber of Commerce held a breakfast seminar on Wednesday September 10 2008. And despite the early start at 7.30 in the morning, the conference room at the Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit in Bangkok was so full that an extra table had to be brought in.
56 people, mainly Scandinavians, showed up to be inspired. The topic was “Headhunter secrets: Learn to interview as a professional”, and the main purpose of the seminar was tricks to avoid hiring the wrong people to a company.
The speaker was Tom Sorensen, Partner in Grant Thornton’s Executive Recruitment. He taught the crowd what an employer can do to prepare for a job interview, what to avoid, and he told about basic techniques that can be helpful for HR Managers, Managing Directors, Recruitment sections and line managers.
Tom Sorensen also told about the importance of spending two hours per job interview and that it is a good idea to challenge the job hunter with practical questions. However, what an employer should avoid is talking only about the company and not asking questions. And preparation is essential in order to hire the right staff.

The next event held by the Danish Thai Chamber of Commerce will be the free SEB evening seminar, September the 17th, also at the Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit from 18.30-20.
The next day it is followed by the traditional and always popular Danish Networking evening, Thursday the 18th of September at the Sukhumvit House number 1.
