Carmen solution implemented by PAL three months ahead of schedule

Philippine Airlines, PAL, began using its Carmen solution in October, three months ahead of the originally planned schedule. The airline signed a five year contract with the Swedish software provider Carmen Systems AB in December 2002.
     The agreement comprises installation of Carmen Crew Pairing, Rostering and Roster Maintenance software.
     This package helps PAL to produce and maintain crew schedules that are both cost-efficient and consider crew preferences whilst also meeting operational targets.
     “It is a great achievement for both Philippine Airlines and the Carmen project team to be able to accomplish a smooth implementation of the Carmen Crew Pairing and have this in production for October schedules, thus attaining the savings from using Carmen’s pairing solutions henceforth,” says Ms. Susan Del Carmen AVP-Cabin Services Sub-Department at PAL.
     PAL is Carmen’s second client in the Asia-Pacific region. The first is Singapore Airlines. European airlines using the Gothenburg headquartered Carmen Systems’ solutions are for example SAS, Air France, Alitalia, Lufthansa and KLM. Carmen Systems’ regional office is located in Singapore.
