Indonesian college cooperates with DANIDA in audit training

An Indonesian prominent college set up cooperation with Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) to train appraisers who will be assigned to audit the environment impacts of construction projects across the country, a college spokesperson said here Monday.
Teaming up with DANIDA, Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB) held a training program for environmental auditors from across the country.  Quoting IPB spokesperson Henny Widarti, national news agency Antara reported Monday that the training program is aimed at increasing the appraisers’ skill in auditing the environmental impacts of a construction project.
Appraisers taking part in the training program were came from Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD), North Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, South Sumatra, Jakarta, West Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and South-East Sulawesi. After the training program, appraisers who would be sent back to their origins, are expected to minimize the negative impacts of construction projects to the surrounding environments. In a bid to boost economy development, Indonesia government has drafted plans to build more infrastructure projects, among others, bridges, roads and power plants across the country.
