Thai Princess to Visit Scandinavia

Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsavali Kitiyara of Thailand is paying a visit to Norway from 25 July until 3 August. After that, she will go to Denmark where she will stay for a week ending her tour on the 10th.

In Norway, the Princess will attend the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition in Belvik that will show pictures of a previous Thai king, King Chulalongkorn, taken during one of his state visits to Norway.

While in Denmark, she will attend the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the foundation of Wat Thai Danish Promwihan – a Thai Danish temple in Copenhagen. During her visit, the Princess will also travel to different parts of Denmark. For example, she will visit a school for disabled children in Aalborg, see the Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus, and stop by the famous Hans Christian Andersen Museum in Odense.

Princess Soamsavali is the first but now former wife to His Royal Highness Maha Vajiralongkorn. The couple divorced in 1991 but as the mother of the king’s first grand child, she is still a very influential person within the Thai royal family.

Before her trip to Scandinavia, the Princess will go to England on an unofficial, private visit.
