Pandora Brand Rejected in China

The Danish jewelry giant Pandora does not yet exist in the Chinese market. Not that Pandora does not wish to be present there, but the company’s brand has quite simply been rejected in China. The reason is that the rights to the name already belongs to another party.

In Sydbank it causes concern that the brand name is not secured in China.

“This matter could result in the fact that it can be very difficult to protect against counterfeiting. That could cause trouble in a Chinese market that otherwise has the potential to be of huge importance to Pandora,” says Soren Løntoft, analyst at Sydbank.

Pandora do not wish to get into details of how to solve the China problem. But Director of Communications, Kasper Riis, stresses that the missing rights will not affect plans to enter the market at some point.
