As questions linger over the situation along the Thailand-Cambodia border, Thai authorities have moved to reassure European partners – including Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway – about safety conditions in the region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand reports.
On February 2nd, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with ambassadors and embassy representatives from several European countries to discuss current travel advisories for Thailand and recent developments at the border.
During the talks, Thai officials shared updated assessments of the situation and encouraged participating countries to consider adjusting their travel advice to better reflect current conditions.
Thailand also reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian demining efforts along the Thailand-Cambodia border, in line with its obligations under the Ottawa Convention, and welcomed cooperation with partner countries.
Travel advisories issued by Nordic and European governments are closely watched by travellers and businesses alike, making the discussions particularly relevant for those with interests in the region.
