Carlsberg Vietnam joined a green cycling event in Da Nang on June 20 as part of celebrations marking 55 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark.
The “DaNang–Copenhagen: Green Journey Along the Han River” event was organised by the Danish Embassy and the Da Nang People’s Committee. It brought together government representatives, businesses and local residents to promote sustainable urban development, green mobility and healthier lifestyles.
Employees from Carlsberg Vietnam, led by Managing Director Andrew Khan, took part alongside representatives from the Danish Embassy and local authorities.
“As a Danish company that has proudly been part of Vietnam for more than 30 years, we are pleased to support initiatives that encourage more sustainable ways of living,” Khan said.
The cycling event also featured the “Liveable Cities – Bicycle Cities” exhibition, highlighting how urban planning and cycling infrastructure can contribute to cleaner and more people-friendly cities.
Carlsberg Vietnam said the event aligns with its “Brewing Tomorrow” sustainability programme, which focuses on reducing carbon emissions, protecting nature, encouraging sustainable choices and supporting communities.
The company has recently expanded several environmental initiatives in Central Vietnam. Earlier this year, more than 150 employees and partners joined a coastal clean-up in Da Nang that collected over 1.3 tonnes of waste.
At its Phu Bai Brewery in Hue, now the largest brewery in Carlsberg’s Asian operations, the company has introduced measures including full recycling of packaging waste, reusable glass bottles and the reuse of CO₂ generated during production.
Carlsberg Vietnam said it also plans to launch a rooftop solar project later this year as part of the group’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2040.
