A surveillance video shows the Danish suspect fleeing on motorcycle

Thai police have arrested a 35-year-old Danish man accused of stealing a safe from a Chinese businessman’s home on Koh Samui, Bangkok post reports.

Police said the safe contained land and property documents linked to assets valued at about 100 million baht. Items recovered included 11 original land title deeds, seven house registration certificates, and seven villa permits.

The suspect, identified as Nicklas Yunus Verlis, was arrested at Kongka pier in Krabi. Police said he was preparing to leave Thailand.
Investigators said he broke into a residence in Bo Phut on 26 January and removed the entire safe. Police said he later opened it at a hotel, kept the documents, and dumped the empty safe nearby.

Police said he had booked a flight from Krabi to Bali and tried to abandon his passport at the airport. Officers said his initial statements were inconsistent and his motive remains under investigation.
