First impressions from Copenhagen

This week, the three winners of the Talent Prize 2013, Phan Thi Khanh An, Nguyen Phuoc Vinh and Hoang Huu Gia Han, are exploring the capital of Denmark.

The three aspiring Vietnamese architects are fascinated with the safety, liveliness and welcoming atmosphere of the city: “The citizens, they are so kind and so friendly and always willing to help visitors even if we have not asked yet, and most of places and buildings in the city create the feeling of you are invited, just come and see!” Says Thi Khanh An.

The one week architectural study tour to Copenhagen was the 1st place award of the Talent Prize 2013 arranged by The Danish Embassy. “We are very impressed by the contemporary buildings. Not only the design of the housing in Ørestad, but also the public and office buildings in the city centre. The Playhouse for example is excellent design, and Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, just north of Copenhagen, has perfect lighting, and the changing of space creates an interesting experience for visitors,” says Phan Thi Khanh An.

This year’s Talent Prize competition has photography as the overall theme and will be launched later this month. Until then, enjoy the pictures and first impressions from Copenhagen by Phan Thi Khanh An, Nguyen Phuoc Vinh and Hoang Huu Gia Han.
