Norway and Thailand Strengthen Anti-Corruption Cooperation at Bangkok Forum

Representatives from Thai and Norwegian organisations gathered in Bangkok for the “Integrity in Practice Forum,” focusing on transparency, ethical leadership, and anti-corruption efforts in business and education.

A room in Bangkok filled with business leaders, diplomats and academics recently turned into a testing ground for a single idea: trust as a driver of growth, Khasosod English reports.

The Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, together with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok, hosted the “Integrity in Practice Forum: Shaping the Future through Responsible Governance” at Hotel Nikko Bangkok. More than 100 participants from the public and private sectors gathered to focus on transparency and anti-corruption efforts in Thailand.

Speakers linked the discussion to global standards, including frameworks from the OECD and the World Bank. The message was clear: ethical governance is becoming a requirement, not an option, for sustainable economic development.

Two panel discussions set the tone. The first, featuring voices from organisations such as Bangchak Corporation PCL and Aibel (Thailand) Ltd, focused on practical steps to reduce corruption risks and build stronger accountability systems, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The second panel turned to the future. Representatives from Jotun Thailand, Yara Thailand and Bangkok Patana School discussed how education, training and leadership development can shape more responsible decision-makers.

The forum ended with a workshop led by the Thai Private Sector Collective Action Against Corruption, where participants worked through real business scenarios. The aim was simple: turn principles of integrity into everyday practice and strengthen cooperation between Thai and Norwegian partners.
