Norwegian-Thai man injured in homemade bomb blast during domestic dispute in Chonburi

A domestic dispute in Chonburi ended with a homemade bomb blast that injured a Norwegian-Thai man, his wife, and two friends.

A jealous argument between a Thai woman and her Norwegian-Thai husband ended in an explosion in Chonburi, police said. Four people were injured, according to Khaosod English.

Rescue workers reported the blast at 00:16 on 25 January at a house in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district. Volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon rescue centre and Nong Prue police responded.

Police identified the severely injured man as Christian Kwamma, 27, a Norwegian-Thai national. He suffered serious injuries to his left hand from a homemade “ping-pong bomb”.

His wife, Patcharida Kwamma, 23, was injured in the face by shrapnel, police said. Two friends, Anuwat Chompho, 21, and Suphaphorn Jor-mor, 21, were also treated for minor wounds.

Anuwat told police the group had been drinking outside when the couple argued. He said Christian slammed the device on a marble table, triggering the blast.
