A leadership change has taken place at Swedish car maker Volvo Cars in China.
The company announced on May 11 that Yuan Xiaolin is stepping down as President and CEO of Greater China after 16 years with the company, Autonews Gasgoo reports.
He will leave day-to-day operations to spend more time with his family.
Yuan played a key role when Chinese automotive group Geely acquired Volvo Cars in 2010. At the time, he led the merger and acquisition process and later became one of the most important Volvo executives in Asia.
He is now being replaced by Duan Jianjun, who takes over responsibility for Volvo’s operations in Greater China with immediate effect.
Duan brings more than 30 years of automotive experience and has previously held senior positions with Mercedes-Benz and BMW in China.
