Thailand’s state-controlled airport company Airports of Thailand has confirmed that international passenger service charges will increase by around 50 percent from June 20, 2026, according to Thai Examiner.
Under the new pricing structure, outbound international passengers will pay 1,120 baht instead of the current 730 baht.
The airport fee is included in airline ticket prices, meaning international flights to and from Thailand are expected to become more expensive after the change takes effect.
The increase will apply at six major airports:
- Suvarnabhumi Airport
- Don Mueang International Airport
- Phuket International Airport
- Chiang Mai International Airport
- Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport
- Hat Yai International Airport
Applies only to international passengers
According to Airports of Thailand president Paweena Jariyathitipong, the additional revenue will be used for airport expansion projects, automated passenger processing systems and upgraded safety technology.
The airport operator also said it plans to expand terminal capacity and invest in automated Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS), which allow airlines to share check-in and boarding infrastructure.
The fee increase only applies to international passengers. Domestic passenger charges will remain unchanged.

Thai Examiner, which first reported on the confirmed implementation timeline, also noted that the increase had originally been proposed in 2025.
The fee increase comes as Thailand continues pushing its long-term ambition of becoming a larger regional aviation hub in Southeast Asia.
