Volvo has told 143 owners of the EX30 Ultra in Singapore not to charge beyond 70% for now. The advice is linked to a potential battery defect and fire risk.
The Swedish carmaker said a permanent fix is being developed. Affected owners will be notified when a fix is ready, and if a recall visit is needed.
Volvo said 33,777 vehicles are affected worldwide. It said around 0.02% have been reported to catch fire, with no injuries reported.
In Singapore, the issue affects only some 200kW EX30 models, known as the Category B COE version. The 110kW version sold locally is not affected.
The notification was posted on Singapore’s Land Transport Authority recall system on 30 December. Volvo also said the related Zeekr X is not affected because it uses a different battery.
