Big rise in Swedish Bangkok arrivals

Did the tsunami have a damaging effect on Swedish travel to Thailand? Not if you look at what happens with incoming tourists to Bangkok. Swedish arrivals to Bangkok’s Don Muang airport have increased by over 24 percent during January and February 2005 compared with the same period 2004.
The numbers are drawn from TAT statistics and publicized in the latest Travel Trade Weekly.
This happens at the same time as the overall numbers of arrivals to Don Muang for the measured period drops by 7.55 percent.
The data is calculated on arrivals by the top ten tourist markets to Thailand. Korea and China show the largest dips by 36 and 44 percent negative growth respectively.
