Sweden supports EU action in Aceh

Sweden will support EU’s observer project in the Indonesian province Aceh, following the signing of a peace agreement 15 August in Helsinki.
Initially, the Swedish government has approved to send eight staff from Sweden’s rescue services and financial support with SEK 40 million for logistical work in Aceh. EU observers will control that both parties follow the peace agreement.
Earlier this summer did Sweden provide SEK 150 million for reconstruction work in the tsunami hit areas of Indonesia.
