A mine clearance team from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) has found and removed 18 unexploded wartime explosives buried in a forest in Hue in central Vietnam.
The explosives included artillery shells, mortar rounds, anti-tank rockets and grenades, which were discovered during a clearance operation in Phong Thai Ward.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the explosives were safely transported to a demolition site for destruction.
NPA said the operation improved safety for 161 people using the land for farming and livestock, as well as nearly 2,000 residents living nearby.
