Jan Olov Agrell, Development Co-operation Minister of the Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi has been conferred the Friendship Medal from Government inspector Quach Le Thanh, on behalf of the Vietnamese State on, 2006.
The January 24 award was made in recognition of Agrell’s contributions to the advancement of inspection cooperation and friendly relations between Vietnam and Sweden.
During his three years of work in Vietnam commencing 2002, Agrell has actively supported different agencies in charge of internal affairs and the inspection sector in various activities, including an anti-corruption research program that created a platform for Vietnam to build up regulations and measures to fight against corruption.
In the years ahead Agrell is to work closely with the Government Inspectorate to map out corruption prevention and control strategies through 2020.
