EU President Finland Condemns Thailand Military Coup

EU president Finland condemned the military coup in Thailand on September 19, according to NewsRoom Finland.
“The presidency demands that the military forces stand back and give way to the democratically elected political government,” the Finnish presidency said in a statement.
“Thailand has been living several years without major political turmoil. The presidency wishes that Thailand will soon be able to return to democratic order.”
Finland’s Prime Minister, Matti Vanhanen, also expressed grave concern on Tuesday over the events in Bangkok, describing the coup as “highly regrettable”.
Erkki Tuomioja, the Finnish foreign minister, told the Finnish News Agency (STT) on Wednesday that the events in Thailand had not yet altered his busy schedule for the next few days.
“It is a classic military coup – in Thai style,” Mr Tuomioja said.
