Restaurant Akvavit in Singapore will host their traditional Martha Night for the third year in a row on February 22, 2007.
“It is called Martha Night, because the menu is a copy of the grand, cold buffet shown in the cult movie ‘Martha’ from 1967”, explains restaurateur Morten Uttrup. After dinner, Akvavit will show the movie about the old ship and Morten Uttrup promises that beer will be plenty.
Previously, Martha Night has attracted 70 people, but Morten Uttrup hopes that the number will exceed 100 guests this year as a lot of people has already signed up for the event. The classic movie is considered cult among shipping people and seamen as it stars some of Denmark’s most prominent actors in the roles of Martha’s crew.
