Laotian Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office Bountieng Phisamay recently visted Sweden to study Swedish education and environmental protection. Upon his return, Mr. Bountieng Phisamay urged the development industry not to forsake Laos’ natural heritage.
The minister suggested that government socio-economic development policyneeds to be implemented in such away that the environment is protected. He also called for environmental law and regulations to be strictly observed in the development process.
The minister pointed to the need for crop planting areas and livestock,increase output of agriculture for markets that effected bio-diversity, environment and people directly in many countries, including population, drought and flooding.
