Seadrill’s West Larissa Rig to Undergo Repairs Cost Some Loss of Revenue

Oil services group Seadrill Ltd said its West Larissa mobile drilling rig which engaged in positioning for a start-up of production operations off Indonesiahas been damaged and will be laid up for repairs with some loss of revenues for the company.
The Norwegian company said in a statement that West Larissa was currently on its way to a Singapore yard after damage to one of the unit’s legs.
“It has been determined that the unit most likely will be out of operation for up to four months starting today,” the company said in a statement.
“However loss of revenues is to some extent expected to be covered by insurance,” it added.
Seadrill spokesman Jim Datland would not specify further on the length of repair time nor the precise impact to Seadrill’s revenues.
