Swedish Ambassadors’ Rotation In S.E.Asia

This summer a major reshuffle of Swedish Ambassadors will take place in South East Asia. Here’s the summary:
Jonas Hafström, Swedish Ambassador to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Burma, has been appointed as an Ambassador in Washington DC, USA. Hafstrom has previously served at the embassies in Teheran and Washington, and has been Head of the Department for Consular Affairs and Civil Law at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Mr Hafström will take up his post as Ambassador in Washington in autumn 2007.
Lennart Linnér, who is currently Ambassador of Sweden to Indonesia, will take up the position in Bangkok as the new Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Burma.
Ann Marie Bolin Pennegård will replace Lennart Linner as Ambassador in Jakarta by September. She is at present Director of the Division for Criminal Cases and International Judicial Cooperation at the Ministry of Justice. Pennegård has previously served at the OSCE Delegation in Vienna, the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the Office of the United Nations and other International Organisations in Geneva, the Embassy in Warsaw and the Consulate-General in New York.
Annika Markovic, currently Swedish Ambassador in Manila, has been appointed as new Ambassador in Brazilia, Brazil. She previously served at the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations in New York. Ms Markovic’s work at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs has included issues related to disarmament and the UN. She will take up her post in Brazilia in August 2007.
Inger Ultvedt, who is currently working at the Department for Multilateral Development Cooperation at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, will take up the vacant position in Manila as new Ambassador of Sweden to the Philippines. She previously worked for the UNDP. Her positions at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs include work at the Department for International Law, Human Rights and Treaty Law and posts at the embassies in Oslo, London and Dar es Salaam.
