Finns to Build Coal Plant in Vietnam

Finnish engineering and consulting group Pöyry said on July 23, 2007 it had won an €11-million (US$15 million) deal to design a coal power plant for the Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation in central Vietnam’s Vung Ang town, Ha Tinh province, some 420 km south of Hanoi.
The Vung Ang project will play a key role in Vietnam‘s future energy generation capacity because of its size, location and technical sophistication.
Pöyry said the Vung Ang power plant project was also a strategic milestone in its Southeast Asian operations.
