Nokia in Singapore Rumoured to Remove Music-Protection

According to several mobile-forum at the internet, Nokia plans to easy the access to their new music service Comes With Music.

At the launch of the Nokia Music Store and Comes With Music in Singapore, Adam Mirabella, director of global digital music retail at Nokia, is apparently quoted as saying that the Finnish giant is in talks to remove DRM protection from its Nokia Music Store.

The Nokia Music Store currently has a multi-million track library of music from all of the major record labels. The tracks are protected with Microsoft’s PlaysForSure DRM, which restricts the number of phones and computers that the songs can be played back on. The Comes With Music program allows users 12 or 18 months of unlimited downloads from this store.
