Swedish top triathlon athlete Mike Thoren, born in 1991, has accepted the invitation to come to Changchun for taking part in Vasa Bike Festival and Vasa Swim Festival, which will be held on 28 – 29 August 2010 in Changchun, China.
Mike is the “king” who has become the Swedish National Champion for four times in Open Water Competition from 2007—2010. For July this summer, he just got the Swedish national champion in men’s Open Water 5km. Besides, he has been the winner of Vansbrosimningen, which is a classical, Swedish swimming competition with 60-year history. Vansbrosimningen is one of the total four events consisting of “En Svensk Klassiker” (The Swedish Classic’s); Vasaloppet (cross country skiing 90K), Vatternrundan (road biking 300K) and Lidingoloppet (cross country running 30K). Anyone who has fulfilled all these events in a 12 month around will be awarded a Swedish Classic. For the Vansbrosimningen 2010, there have been more than 11600 persons taking part in. By winning the main competition, 3K, Mike has become historical spot again by winning the main competition of 3K.He’s the miracle!
“I am really looking forward to travelling to China for the swimming and biking event in Changchun. Since this is my first ever trip to China I have already got good advices from my brother and father, who both have competed in China for road biking event Vatternrundan China”. Also, I am so looking forward to the couple of day– trip in Beijing. And the Great Wall will be one of my must-see spots of course.” says Mike Thorén.
The Chinese Challenge includes Vasa Bike Festival, Vasa Triathlon Festival, Vasa Swim Festival, will be held in Jinyuetan Park, an advanced national park which is awarded as one of the top 8 scenic spots in Jilin Province by the provincial government.

What’s more worthy to be mentioned is that along with the Chinese Challenge week, Vasa Triathlon Festival on August 28th will be a unique brand new event on board. Consisting of swimming 750m, biking 18km, running 5km, it’s named as the king of the endurance sport.
