Rescue Workers were called to the Niran Grand Condo in Soi Arunotai, Central Pattaya on Monday to assist a Swedish Resident who was threatening to kill himself.
The Police were also called and made their way to a room occupied by the man, known only as Mr. Dan aged around 55, writes PattayaOne.
Police forced entry to the room and were met by a barrage of abuse from Mr. Dan who was holding a meat cleaver. He informed those present that his Thai Wife and Child had left him and he wanted to kill himself.
The disturbed man began to slash his arm with the knife and urgent action was taken by those in attendance to disarm the man and take him to Hospital.
Even as he was being put into the back of the Ambulance, he was resisting rescue workers and told them to leave him alone so he could die. Mr. Dan is currently under observation at Hospital and the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok is assisting him at this time.
