800,000 Pakistanis Still Need Help

800,000 people in Pakistan desperately still need help af a consequence of the floods in the country. So says the Danish newspaper Kristeligt Dagblad.

The UN is now applying for more helicopters to reach out for the many people.

“They can only be reached by air traffic,” says The UN in a press release.

In the southern province of Sindh, the risk of more floods is big for the next couple of days because the Indus river might flow over.

Right outside the city of Hyderabad, the Indus river is now almost three and a half kilometres in the width. Normally though, it is only between 200 and 300 metres.

More than 17 million people are under influence of the massive floods in Pakistan. 1500 people are, officially, dead, but The UN believes that this number in reality is much higher.
