King Chulalongkorn’s Memorial Day in Sweden

Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, presided over the wreath-laying ceremony at the statue of King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) at the Thai Pavilion.

On the occasion of King Chulalongkorn’s Memorial Day on 23 October 2010, H.E. Mr. Thanarat Thanaputti, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, presided over the wreath-laying ceremony at the statue of King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) at the Thai Pavilion in Bispgården, Ragunda Municipality. Attending the ceremony were Mrs. Terese Bengard, Mayor of Ragunda Municipality, representatives from Ragunda and the Swedish-Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thai community and Swedish locals. 

the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm in collaboration with the Swedish-Thai Chamber of Commerce organized an exhibition entitled “Centenary of the Demise of King Chulalongkorn” and postcards to commemorate this occasion and to pay tribute to King Chulalongkorn. 

On the same occasion, the Ambassador attended the merit-making ceremony to mark King Chulalongkorn’s Memorial Day as well as the end of the Buddhist Lent at the nearby King Chulalongkorn Meditation Center in Bispgården which was also attended by the Thai community from nearby areas such as Ostersund and Sundsvall.  The Ambassador briefed them on the developments in Thailand and consular matters.
