Successful Swedish Visit to Indonesia

The
Swedish official visit to Indonesia ended February 8. The meetings had
focused on environmental issues. Both Sweden and Indonesia recognize the
need for green technology in order to deal with some of the effects
from the rapid economic growth in Indonesia.


Swedish
companies they see market opportunities in Indonesia, Swedish Minister
for Trade, Ewa Björling told the press at the end of her visit:

”In
addition to green development, Swedish companies were interested in
investing in the health and creative industrial sectors in Indonesia.”


The
Swedish interest was well received by the Indonesian Minister of Trade,
Mari Pangestu. According to The Jakarta Post she said:

“We
see Sweden has potential in several sectors, such as forestry, energy,
transportation and industry because it has excellent technology in those
sectors”, adding that Indonesia also planned to develop 50 green cities
across the country.
