First wind turbines in 1986
Vestas is the largest wind turbine producer in the world. The company’s headquarter is located in Aarhus, the second biggest city in Denmark. From 1970s, as the pioneer of wind industry, Vestas has been leading in wind turbine design and production.
The first Vestas turbines were shipped to China in 1986, and installed in Shandong and Hainan, and today the same turbines are still running well.
From 2004, Vestas started investing in China and building factories. Today, Vestas has seven factories in Tianjin, Hohhot and Xuzhou. Of them, the five factories in Tianjin form the biggest integrated manufacturing facility of Vestas globally.
