Finland supporting Cloud Forest Center in Cameron Highlands

Embassy of Finland is supporting set up of a Cloud Forest Center in Cameron Highlands. Tapio Saarela, Ambassador of Finland, and Ramakrishnan Ramasany, President of Regional Environmental Awareness Cameron Highlands, just recently assigned the agreement of the co-operation project on Cameron Highlands.

With the financial support of Finland the purpose is to build new Biodiversity Teaching Centre, irrigation system, nursery and store at Gunung Brinchang. In addition to this the existing roads will be repaired.

The plan is also to create a conservation and research area to cultivate endangered plants as well as set up an insect ranch to reintroduce insects and other invertebrates which used to be found on this area.
